Only just found out that today is National Freelancers Day so I thought I’d share both sides of what today has been like as it’s sort of been a good balance between the good and the shite side of freelancing. On the bad side, I got asked to contribute to two national editorials and had to turn both down. One was for a commercial client who wanted photos within the hour to be taken and delivered to a national newspaper for 25 to 30 quid!!?? And the other was a national lifestyle magazine who wanted to license some Liverpool images for zilch. On the plus side, I’ve sold a few prints, been asked to delve deep for a nice licensing job, had a client thank me for fab photos, did a nice little pr job with nice people and then this evening I’m shooting a comedian for an ongoing commission. Swings and roundabouts, the good, the bad and the ugly. Fairly typical day really and as much as it winds me up at times, I wouldn’t swap it for the world. Mmn, actually, let me think about that last bit…
Liverpool photographer and music obsessive. Rants, raves and archive randoms. And random randoms. This is the place where I stick stuff that don't fit nowhere else and the stuff that does fit somewhere else fits here - http://www.mcnulty.co.uk
