Just in the middle of editing Liverpool Sound City photos and came across this shot of The Hummingbirds playing on the roof of Starbucks in Liverpool One. Great band but not easily seen from the street and they got a bit overshadowed by some bucketheads upstairs. Don’t know what exactly was going on but I’m guessing student pranks or a stag do!

Just started posting up some of my work to 500PX and I’ve started witha local scene or two (nice), a few fashion shots and the story of Chicken Shit Bingo (random).
Thanks to my birthday landing on Easter Sunday, I got to take some long overdue time off with a long weekend away so we headed for an amazing cottage just outside Newport in Powys and with Dogzilla and the calmer dog in tow to worry some sheep, we walked, read books and watched films, ate well, drank well, mostly avoided the traffic and rain and returned home in a relaxed state of mind. I can highly recommend it. This is the evidence.
Something old, something new (nothing borrowed, nothing blue) is sort of how the new website is looking and this is one of the older selections. Site should be live at some point tomorrow as will the new blog which works away from my main portfolio site!
I keep forgetting I photographed John Bishop a couple of years ago. Got to be honest but I didn’t know who he was at the time (I was photographing a bunch of people for something) and only realised when I saw him in a stadium tour advert photo a couple of months later. Don’t know if he got famous in like 5 minutes or I’m just rubbish but, either way, he was very nice from what I remember.
I’m currently wading through my photo library trying to work out which photographs to put up on my portfolio site, when it gets a relaunch and new design in 2 weeks, and along the way I found these photographs taken for Plastic Rhino Magazine about 7 years ago. The model in these shots is Jacqueline Passmore, make up was by Jeannie Bolet and the styling was by Regina Peldszus who also made up the ‘sweet’ pictures!
This is Trevor Moss & Hannah Lou and an acoustic session I shot with them for Routes Jukebox in late 2011. I’ve also just recorded a new session for the Jukebox with a Liverpool band called City Walls so watch this space for news on that soon!
It’s been a while since I used my Tumblr account but, as I’m working on updates for both my main sites, I may as well give my Tumblr account a new look and feel so expect more news soon about my portfolio site, new Liverpool blog and my archives! Oh and lots and lots of new work!
Considering I went all the way to Paris to take this photograph, I don’t remember much about the party other than Mark Auerbach was djing and I think the promoters were called Slam but they weren’t the Scottish Slam lot. Oh and it was on the top floor of the Pompidou Centre which was pretty special. I also remember it finishing in daylight and leaving the building via the exterior glass escalators and seeing the Eiffel Tower in the distance and remembering where I was. Must have been a good night.
